What is a real-life example of a fixed beam? Where do find real pictures of it?

We have a general idea about how does a fixed and pinned support condition works.

So a fixed support condition is something which doesn’t allow horizontal or vertical or rotational movement of that support. So this means that support needs to be really rigid.

For example you just take a pencil and hold it in your palm, close it and tighten it as much as you can and now try to rotate it with your other hand, it gets really tough to rotate it.

What does this example mean, the rotation of the pencil in the palm becomes difficult due to connectivity between them, how stiff you hold the pencil matters and that is how you differentiate the fixed and pinned connection. The way you connect the beam with the column is all that is going to make the change.

So how will I connect my beam to have its ends fixed.

I can tell you in steel buildings point of view, the arrangement of bolts connecting the column and the beam matters and as well providing stiffeners which restrains rotation.
